The Boardroom Review will explore the most immediate and pressing issues that boards will be facing in 2020. Expectations of all board members are rapidly changing and it is crucial that they are equipped with the highest level of skills and knowledge to perform their roles. This event will be a valuable opportunity to examine what the future holds for boards and what is required to keep pace to ensure they remain fit for purpose. 

This event is relevant to all executive and non-executive directors of Jersey companies and the officers that support them.

It has become widely accepted over recent years that the outlook of the traditional board needs to change. As we enter the 2020s, this session will look at the key trends that all board members should be scrutinising to ensure they continue to evolve, champion change and remain fit for purpose.

The range of crises organisations could face today are myriad and it is essential to be prepared no matter what form these might take. The difference between handling a crisis well, or badly, can have a lasting effect on reputations well beyond the crisis itself. This session will feature practical case studies on how to react when faced with the unexpected.

If you’re a board director, you must pay attention to digital, even if it’s not your area of expertise. Arguably, all boards should now have the capability to drive effective strategy and mitigate the risks with operating in an every increasingly digitalized world. This session will explore how boards can ensure they are ‘digitally savvy’.

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues have been steadily rising to the top of board agendas.  However, a number of recent developments have sparked a sea change in this increasingly complex area and thrust the role of the Board into the spotlight.  What is ESG, why does it matter and where will it sit within a director’s duties in the years to come?
