Carey Olsen's probate manager, Tony Fulton (pictured), has been recognised by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) winning the Founder's Award for outstanding achievement.

Now in its fifth year, the awards are given to members across the world who have made an exceptional, long-term contribution to STEP and gone above and beyond expectations as a STEP member.

Mr Fulton had been a longstanding member of the STEP committee in Jersey since the branch was established 20 years ago. He stepped down at the last Annual General Meeting.

STEP Jersey Vice Chairman, Lorraine Wheeler, said: “We nominated Tony because during the 20 years he has worked tirelessly to represent the industry in estates and probate matters.

“As well as his work on the committee Tony has delivered many training courses and worked with Central Law Training to develop a Certificate in International Succession and Probate.

“We're delighted that STEP Worldwide has agreed with us that Tony is worthy of this award.”

With over 40 years' experience as a probate practitioner, Mr Fulton administers estates, prepares wills and undertakes probate for foreign domiciliaries at Carey Olsen. As well as being a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services, he is a TEP (Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner) and holds the Chartered Institute of Bankers' Trustee Diploma.

Paul Matthams, Carey Olsen head of fiduciary in Jersey, said: “The STEP Founder's Award is highly regarded and this is a fantastic achievement. Tony has made a considerable contribution to STEP over his years as a member and this well-deserved award is recognition of this.”
