The International Stock Exchange (TISE) has appointed Charlie Geffen as the new Chairman of its regulatory arm, The International Stock Exchange Authority (TISEA), replacing Mark Tubby, who has stepped down after six years.
Charlie will combine the new role with his existing business interests. Earlier in his career, he spent 32 years at law firm Ashurst, latterly as Senior Partner. This period included the merger with an Australian law firm and growth across continental Europe, Asia and the US.
He then joined Gibson, Dunn & Cutcher and, as Chair of its corporate practice in London, led the growth of its transactional practice there.
Charlie has now stepped back from partnership to a Senior Adviser role at Gibson, Dunn & Cutcher. He is also a trustee of the Institute of Cancer Research and a member of Council at Surrey University.
Jon Moulton, Chairman of The International Stock Exchange Group, commented: “I am delighted to announce Charlie as Chairman of TISEA. He has significant legal experience across a range of different facets of the corporate environment and has demonstrated strong leadership during his time in senior positions at two major international law firms.”
The TISEA board now comprises Charlie Geffen, Adrienne Muir (also Non-Executive Director), as well as Executive Directors Mark Nicol (Managing Director), Jonathan Richards and Robbie Andrade.
