Startup Guernsey to host big data conference

Startup Guernsey is to host Guernsey's first Data Conference on 9 October.

The event – entitled Guernsey Data Conference 1.0 – will be held from 8.15am to 5pm at the St Pierre Park Hotel. It will feature speakers from a range of business sectors, who will look at the opportunities and risks of big data for local businesses, and its impact on the global market:

• Marc Winn, Dandelion Foundation
• Colin Vaudin, Chief Information Officer, States of Guernsey 
• Emma Martins, Data Protection Commissioner for Guernsey
• Stuart Lawson, Product Manager, Northern Trust
• Jon Barclay, Partner, Bedell Cristin
