Rathbones seminar to examine disruptive tech

Posted: 12/06/2018

Rathbone Investment Management International is holding a breakfast event on Wednesday 4 July, which will look at disruptive technologies and their potential impact on economics. The free-to-attend event will be held at the Royal Yacht Hotel, St Helier, from 8am.

Announcing the seminar, Rathbones said: "It is claimed that technology is changing the world at an unprecedented pace. Such changes have profound investment implications. In the next few years, some companies will go out of business as their technology is rendered obsolete. Others will survive by adopting and adapting new technologies.

"We will focus on the investment implications of disruptive technology. Given the scale of the potential technological changes, being alive to the risks and open-minded about the potential outcomes is the best way to protect our clients and make informed investment decisions."

Speakers include:
• Jeremy White, Product Editor, Wired magazine
• Edward Smith, Asset Allocation Strategist, Rathbone Investment Management
• Sanjiv Tumkur, Head of Equity Research, Rathbone Investment Management
• Mona Shah, Head of Collectives, Rathbone Investment Management
