Advocate James Angus in Ogier's Jersey Dispute Resolution team has been promoted to Managing Associate.
James joined Ogier in 2017, and advises clients on contentious and cross-border insolvency and restructuring, contentious trusts and succession matters, as well as complex financial services disputes. He has particular expertise in Jersey schemes of arrangement and regularly works with colleagues in Ogier's corporate team on these and other restructuring matters.
James is admitted in England and Wales, Cayman and Jersey, and since 2018 has accepted instructions as external counsel to Jersey's newly formed Economic Crime and Confiscation Unit.
Last year, he was Advocate for target and bidder respectively in the two largest schemes of arrangement in Jersey's history: Randgold Resources' merger with Barrick Gold Corporation and Takeda Pharmaceutical's acquisition of Shire.
