Private wealth specialist Richard Laignel has been promoted to Managing Associate at Ogier.
Richard joined Ogier from Bedell Cristin two years ago. He advises a wide range of professional trustees, intermediaries, family offices and private clients on the establishment, operation and restructuring of trusts and the establishment of private trust company structures.
A member of Ogier's Employee Incentives and Pensions team, he recently made a presentation for Ogier’s Trust Advisory Group to Jersey service providers on the impact of the new substance legislation on Jersey companies and its impact on private wealth structures.
Meanwhile, corporate and finance lawyer Laura Malpass has been promoted to Senior Associate.
Laura, who advises on Jersey and BVI law matters from the firm's Jersey office, has been with the firm since March 2017, having previously served with DLA Piper in the UK.
She has experience in private practice roles in the City, Jersey and BVI, as well as in-house roles and secondments in the banking, energy and logistics sectors.
Laura is a member of Ogier's BVI Europe team, which provides clients with BVI legal support from the European time zone.
