Mourant Ozannes deal team recognised in major industry awards

Mourant Ozannes has been recognised for the role it played in two of the year's biggest corporate deals. The results were announced at the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) 13th Annual European Awards, held at the Dorchester Hotel in London last night.

Robert Hickling (pictured) and Jon Woolrich of Mourant Ozannes advised Glencore on the Equity Deal of the Year, the initial public offering of shares in Glencore. The IPO, valued at $11 billion, was a record for London. Glencore is one of the world's leading commodities traders.

Robert Hickling and Paul Martin advised engineering group Charter International on the M&A Deal of the Year – the $1.5 billion take-over by Colfax of Charter International. The takeover was effected by Jersey scheme of arrangement undertaken by Charter International, whom Mourant Ozannes in Jersey advised throughout the process.

Robert Hickling said: 'The Mourant Ozannes teams on these deals were fully committed to meeting the clients' objectives and worked closely with leading international law firms: Linklaters on Glencore and Slaughter and May on Charter International. The International Financial Law Review is a market-leading publication and to be recognised by the judges for the quality of our work is very gratifying.'

Mourant Ozannes also advised Vallares on its IPO which was short-listed for the Equity Deal of the Year award won by Glencore.
