Mourant has appointed three lawyers to its partnership – Neil McCarroll, Gillian Kennedy-Smith and Ian Montgomery.
Neil (pictured right) has been promoted from Counsel to Partner within the Jersey finance and corporate practice, and will take up his new role from 1 February.
He started working for Mourant in 2015 and specialises in corporate and M&A work, having led on a number of company sales and acquisitions for Jersey and international clients.
Gillian (pictured left) will join the firm's Guernsey-based international trust and private client advisory practice in March.
She moves to the island from Mills & Reeve in London, and has 14 years' experience working with high-net-worth individuals, trust companies, family offices, accountants and IFAs. Gillian has advised internationally mobile families on trusts, succession, next generation planning and tax.
Finally, Ian returns to Mourant from Collas Crill, where he has served as Managing Partner of the British Virgin Islands office for the past year. He advises financial institutions, public and private businesses, funds and individuals on all aspects of BVI corporate, finance and funds law, with a focus on real estate and technology.
In his new role, Ian will lead Mourant's BVI finance and corporate practice.
