Offshore law firm Mourant has advised gambling and entertainment company the Rank Group in relation to its acquisition of Stride Gaming for £115m. The transaction was implemented by a Jersey court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement.
Corporate Partner James Hill (pictured), Litigation Partner Stephen Alexander and Counsel Andrew Salisbury provided Jersey legal advice on all aspects of the acquisition, working alongside English counsel CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang.
Mourant has recently advised on a number of schemes of arrangement, including the takeover of Shire by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, the takeover of Kuwait Energy by United Energy Group; Informa's takeover of UBM; the takeover of Kentz Corporation by SNA Lavelin and the takeover of Heritage Oil.
Lawyers from Carey Olsen’s Jersey office acted as Jersey counsel for Stride Gaming. The team was led by Partner Guy Coltman, with Partner Andreas Kistler leading on elements of the transaction involving the Jersey Royal Court. Carey Olsen worked alongside Pinsent Masons, which acted as onshore counsel for Stride.
