Andrew MarrRenowned broadcaster Andrew Marr and Director of the OECD’s Center for Tax Policy Pascal Saint-Amans will give keynote talks at this year’s Jersey Finance Annual London Funds Conference.

Entitled 'Clear Direction', the conference will take place at 8 Northumberland Avenue on 3 March and will feature a range of discussions analysing the current funds environment, the changing regulatory landscape and the impact of global wealth shifts on international financial flows.

In his speech, Marr (pictured), who spent five years as the nation's most prominent political editor and has become known for his unpretentious and witty style, will offer his insights into current UK and global political trends.

Host of The Andrew Marr Show, he also presents Start The Week and has fronted a landmark series on modern Britain and the Scottish enlightenment, as well as others on history, politics and society. He is a former editor of The Independent and has written for the Express, Observer and Economist.

Meanwhile, Saint-Amans will discuss the implications for fund managers and practitioners of the recently published action points to arise from the OECD’s Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project. Having joined the OECD in 2007, Saint-Amans played a key role in the advancement of the OECD tax transparency agenda in the context of the G20, and in 2009 was appointed Head of the Global Forum Division.

The conference will also feature two discussion sessions involving a number of experts in their field. In the first, moderated by Andrew Marr, panellists will debate recent regulatory and international policy initiatives impacting the funds industry, with a particular focus on the OECD’s BEPS program, the Diverted Profits Tax and the AIFMD, with the experts offering their thoughts on what they mean for fund structuring and management.

In the second session, to be moderated by Tim Hames, Director General of the BVCA, another panel will take a more in-depth look at the alternative fund space and debate how global trends and shifts in wealth in overseas markets are influencing structuring, servicing and domiciliation across the real estate, private equity, hedge, debt and infrastructure asset classes.

Also confirmed to speak at the event is behavioural economist and award-winning Financial Times columnist Tim Harford, presenter of Radio 4’s More or Less and Pop Up Economics.

Designed to appeal to lawyers, managers and other UK-based senior funds professionals, the Jersey Finance Annual Funds Conference takes place on Thursday 3 March at 8 Northumberland Avenue, starting at 12.30pm with a networking lunch and finishing by 7pm following the drinks reception.
