KPMG in the Channel Islands is hosting a seminar focusing on current key transaction trends and issues within the CI mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market.

“With M&A activity starting to gather momentum both from trade and private equity buyers and through formal auctions and off-exchange transactions, we are seeing increasing interest in acquiring Channel Island wealth management companies,” said Ashley Paxton (pictured), Head of Advisory for KPMG in the Channel Islands.

During the seminar, guest panellist Nick Evans of RBSI will discuss raising transaction finance and will share some insights from recent deals he has been invovled in.

The private equity approach to M&A from an investor's perspective will be presented by Ian Moore of Close Brothers Private Equity Capital, which recently acquired a minority stake in a Jersey trust company. He will discuss what makes an investment attractive from a private equity perspective and will also give his thoughts on M&A in Guernsey.

Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity to ask questions of KPMG's experts and the guest pannellists.

The seminar is aimed at anyone interested in M&A, particularly in the financial services industry and will be of particular interest to CEOs and business owners considering acquisitions or disposals in the future.

The seminar will be held on Thursday 20 September at Les Cotils from 8.30 a.m. until 10 a.m. with registration and a light breakfast from 8.15 a.m.

Places on the seminar are free of charge even though advanced booking is required. To book a place at the seminar, contact Donna Savident on +44 (0)1481 741805 or email dsavident@kpmg.guernsey.gg.
