Jersey has won the award for Best International Finance Centre at the WealthBriefing GCC Region Awards, held in Dubai on Wednesday.
he awards celebrate achievement and showcase those who have demonstrated top-class performance and innovation in the Gulf region throughout 2018.
Jersey’s success at this year’s awards comes after Jersey Finance became the first IFC to set up an office in the Dubai International Finance Centre, in a move that underlines the jurisdiction’s commitment to the Gulf region.
Geoff Cook, Chief Executive of Jersey Finance, commented: “Jersey has a long and solid history in the Gulf region and, amidst increasing local and global regulation and compliance requirements, has been successful at promoting its credibility as a leading IFC of excellence.”
Two other firms that have operations in the Channel Islands also picked up awards – Nedbank Private Wealth for Innovative Client Solution (In-House Solutions); and BNP Paribas Wealth Management for Philanthropy Offering/Initiative Of The Year as well as for United Arab Emirates Private Bank – Local.
