The Institute of Directors has elected Lisa Springate, Head of Technical at Jersey Finance, as the new Chair of IoD Jersey. She will succeed Chris Clark at the IoD Annual Members Meeting on 23 May.
Lisa has been a member of the board of the IoD since 2017. A UK Barrister/Jersey Advocate, as Head of the Technical team at Jersey Finance her role is to represent the finance industry’s needs and concerns over legislation, regulation and innovation to enhance its jurisdictional offering.
She works closely with the financial services industry in Jersey, the Government of Jersey and the Jersey Financial Services Commission to maintain effective and proactive consultation and communication.
Prior to joining Jersey Finance at the end of 2017, Lisa was a Partner in the commercial litigation department of Bedell Cristin and has been a litigator for more than 25 years.
Lisa said: "I wish to continue the good work undertaken by my predecessors in making the IoD an inclusive organisation for such a wide cross-section of Jersey’s business community.
"The IoD in Jersey has a membership of over 600 and represents various industries – legal, technology, telecommunications, retail, tourism, financial services, health and education – and I look forward to working with leaders across all sectors.
"I also wish to engage with our business leaders of tomorrow, to encourage diversity and to ensure that the IoD continues to support local businesses to grow."
