IoD Guernsey to hold breakfast seminar

Posted: 10/12/2018

The IoD's Guernsey branch is holding a breakfast seminar on Thursday 13 December, featuring guest speaker David Ummels – investor, banker, entrepreneur and passionate art collector.

David, who has been Managing Director of Astin Capital Management for almost 17 years, focuses on managing his investments and privately advising a limited number of family offices, private banks and corporations on strategic, investment, fundraising, debt restructuring or governance topics.

He is a member of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce Council and sits on several company boards. Shortly after arriving on the island three years ago, he also founded Art for Guernsey, an art-related initiative through which he has encouraged the idea of using art as an economic enabler for the island.

David's talk to IoD members will focus on what Guernsey can do for the world, what asset base the island has and how it can improve on that. He will also explain why he thinks art could be a game changer for Guernsey.

• The breakfast event starts at 7.45am at the Old Government Hotel. Tickets cost £12.50 for IoD members and £17.50 for non-members. To book, click here
