Investment fund statistics for the fourth quarter of 2019 have been published by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. The key points are as follows:
• Investment funds The net asset value of total funds under management and administration has decreased in sterling terms during the last quarter by £17.7bn (-6.2%) to £268.3bn. Over the past year, total net asset values decreased by £13.3bn (-4.7%).
• Open-ended schemes Within these totals, Guernsey-domiciled open-ended funds decreased over the quarter by £1.9bn (-3.9%) to £46.3bn, representing an increase of £3.8bn (9.0%) in the past year.
• Closed-ended schemes The Guernsey closed-ended sector increased over the quarter by £1.1bn (0.6%) to £181.3bn, an increase of £4.9bn (2.8%) in the past year.
• Guernsey Green Funds Within the totals for Guernsey funds, Guernsey Green Funds held a total net asset value of £2.7bn at the end of the quarter.
• Non-Guernsey schemes Non-Guernsey schemes, for which some aspect of management, administration or custody is carried out in the bailiwick, had a net asset value of £40.7bn at the end of the quarter.
