Investment fund statistics for the third quarter of 2019 have been published by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. The key points include the following:
• Investment funds – The net asset value of total funds under management and administration decreased in sterling terms during the last quarter by £9.8bn (-3.3%) to £286.1bn. Over the past year, total net asset values increased by £6.1bn (2.2%).
• Open-ended schemes – Within these totals, Guernsey domiciled open-ended funds increased over the quarter by £0.9bn (1.9%) to £48.2bn. This represents an increase of £4.6bn (10.5%) over the past year.
• Closed-ended schemes – The Guernsey closed-ended sector decreased over the quarter by £0.2bn (-0.1%) to £180.2bn, representing an increase of £8.1bn (4.7%) over the past year.
• Non-Guernsey schemes – These schemes, for which some aspect of management, administration or custody is carried out in the bailiwick, had a net asset value of £57.7bn at the end of the quarter.
