Posted: 05/04/2019

JulianWinser_Apr19Guernsey Green Finance, which was launched in January to support financial sustainability efforts on the island, has launched a new group, the 20 for 20 Business Leaders for Sustainable Finance Network.

The group aims to build a community of business leaders and influencers committed to developing Guernsey’s green and sustainable finance sector.

To take part, each business leader pledges to support strategic action on green and sustainable finance; to promote green and sustainable finance in their personal actions; and to support the work and goals of Guernsey Green Finance.

Among the first to join the 20 for 20 group are Julian Winser (pictured), Chief Executive Officer at Cazenove Capital in the Channel Islands; Wayne Bulpitt, Joint Chair of Guernsey-based consultancy Active Optimus Group and Chair of the Guernsey Community Foundation; and Fiona Le Poidevin, Chief Executive of The International Stock Exchange Group.

Guernsey Green Finance is a member of the United Nations’ Financial Centres For Sustainability (FC4S), a network of finance centres seeking to accelerate green and sustainable finance.

Members of 20 for 20 will support leadership development and green finance education on the island. Guernsey Green Finance is planning a conference for later this year and is rolling out education courses from this spring.
