Ian Chapman and Tania Songini will help the executive management team develop the company’s strategy and fulfil Guernsey’s energy policy and the island’s future energy transition.

Guernsey-born Ian is a physicist who has worked for the UK Atomic Energy Authority for more than 16 years, the past four as CEO leading the development of new sources of low carbon energy.

Tania has worked for German engineering firm Siemens for 15 years, including five in its North West Europe energy business, which focused on the construction and installation of large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

She currently sits on the boards of UK businesses Thrive Renewables and the Private Development Infrastructure Group.

Guernsey Electricity CEO Alan Bates commented: "Ian's and Tania's extensive expertise will make a significant contribution to our energy transition strategic planning.

"As an island, and as a company, we are at a pivotal time as we set out to deliver on the energy policy and ensure we pursue the right strategy in a fair and equitable way."
