The Government of Jersey has received an award for 'Delivering Economic Transformation by Embracing New Global Opportunities' at this year’s Indo-European Business Forum’s (IEBF) Excellence Awards.
The Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré, is pictured collecting the award at a presentation in the House of Lords on Monday.
He commented: “I am pleased to be receiving this award on behalf of the Government of Jersey for the successes it has achieved since launching the Global Markets Strategy in 2017. The strategy aims to broaden Jersey’s relations with high-growth, global economies and create new opportunities for business in markets outside of Europe.
“I am proud of the political and commercial relationships the island has established with India, the Middle East and Africa. It is an honour for Jersey’s achievements in globalising its economy and creating new opportunities for Island businesses to be recognised in this way.”
The IEBF is an independent body that promotes commercial exchanges between the UK, the EU and India. It nominates governments from around the world that have shown a commitment to transforming their economies by promoting trade and investment opportunities with high-growth markets.
