Governance body announces Guernsey seminars

Posted: 08/02/2019

ICSA: The Governance Institute has announced its first two seminars of 2019, which focus on the skills required by company secretaries and governance professionals in Guernsey to support the island’s businesses and other organisations.

The chartered body, which supports and trains governance professionals working and studying in Guernsey, will also consider the future of governance and review areas that will require focus in the coming years.

• 28 February – What makes a great company secretary or governance professional?
ICSA’s new competency framework for governance maps the skills, values and understanding that company secretaries need to succeed at different stages of their career. Developed in collaboration with governance professionals at all levels and sectors, this session will demonstrate how the framework can underpin personal development and the development of company secretarial teams in Guernsey and elsewhere.

• 27 March – Next generation governance
Big forces are reshaping what it means to be a governance professional in the 21st century – from technological change to environmental concerns and new attitudes to the role of organisations in society. This session will explore ICSA’s latest research findings on millennial perspectives on governance.

The seminars are being held at the Best Western Moores Hotel in Le Pollet, St Peter Port, from 12.30-1.30pm. They are open to members (£15) and non-members (£20). Additional information and booking instructions can be found at www.icsa.org.uk/guernsey/events
