The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has released its investment statistics for the first quarter of 2020.
• Guernsey funds – The total net asset value of Guernsey funds has increased in sterling terms during the last quarter by £5.5bn (2.4%) to £233.2bn. Over the past year, total net asset values have increased by £16.4bn (7.6%).
• Open-ended schemes – Within these totals, Guernsey-domiciled open-ended funds decreased over the quarter by £1.6bn (-3.5%) to £44.7bn. This represents an increase of £2.2bn (5.2%) in the past year.
• Closed-ended schemes – The Guernsey closed-ended sector increased over the quarter by £7.1bn (3.9%) to £188.4bn. This represents an increase of £14.2bn (8.2%) in the past year.
• Guernsey Green Funds – Within the totals for Guernsey funds, Guernsey Green Funds held a total net asset value of £3.3bn at the end of the quarter.
• Non-Guernsey schemes – Non-Guernsey open-ended schemes, for which some aspect of management, administration or custody is carried out in the bailiwick, had a net asset value of £33.9bn at the end of the quarter.
• The total net asset value of Guernsey funds and Non-Guernsey open-ended schemes has decreased in sterling terms during the last quarter by £1.2bn (-0.5%) to £267.1bn. Over the past year, total net asset values decreased by 13.3bn (-4.7%).
