The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has appointed four Senior Decision Makers to sit on its panel of Queen’s Counsel.
The Commission established the panel in 2014 to determine the outcome of major enforcement cases. A Senior Decision Maker, sitting alone, hears cases involving findings of serious regulatory shortcomings against a licensee and/or individual directors and where those findings are contested.
They are also required to determine the penalties to be imposed, which will include the level of any financial penalty to be imposed, any period of prohibition from practising in the industry and the contents of any public statement issued by the Commission.
The four new appointments are as follows:
• Catherine Gibaud QC
• Ben Hubble QC
• Richard Jones QC
• Alison Potter
