G4S Channel Islands has promoted Simon Haywood to Managing Director, who takes up the new role from 1 July.
Simon has been with the firm for 10 years, moving up from Security Solutions Manager to Director of Security Services and, most recently, Channel Islands Operations Director.
Simon started his career in the RAF, carrying out investigations, diagnosis and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and instrumentation on combative and passenger aircraft.
From there, he worked as a Design Engineer for British Rail before moving to Jersey to take up the post of Technical Support Engineer for Flagship Technology. Then, following 13 years as General Manager at Jersey Post, Simon joined G4S as Security Solutions Manager.
Simon commented: “G4S Channel Islands has plans to grow and diversify but this will only be possible if we secure, train and retain the best talent. This is probably the single biggest challenge we, and other organisations in the Channel Islands, face.
"I will also review all service lines and identify how we embrace technology to supplement our teams and deliver services in more efficient ways.”
