EY ITEM Club hosts forecast event

Posted: 30/01/2018

EY ITEM Club's Winter forecast presentation is taking place at The Grand Hotel on Tuesday 6 February from 12.30pm.

Martin Beck, EY's Senior Economic Advisor from ITEM Club, will discuss the outcomes and themes of ITEM Club's Winter forecast. He will address the key themes of the forecast and discuss how they are relevant to the Channel Islands and its neighbours.

The forecast is expected to cover the following topics:
• Inflation has been a major drag on the economy in 2017, but to what extent will the squeeze on consumers ease as next year progresses?
• Will November's agreement to move on to stage 2 of the Brexit talks stave off Brexit-related uncertainties and lift investment?
• To what extent will a buoyant world economy compensate for economic headwinds at home?
• What can we expect from the Bank of England – was November's rate rise a 'one and done'?
