EY announces senior promotions

EY_Aine SlaterEY has announced a number of senior promotions across the Channel Islands.

In the tax team, Áine Slater (pictured) has been promoted to Director, while Emily Bodkin and Zaeem Youssouf (pictured) have been promoted to Senior Manager.

Within the assurance team, Iaan Erasmus, Debbie Maclachlan and Peter Whitsey have been promoted to Manager. 

Áine has been with EY since 2005. She specialises in Jersey and UK tax compliance and tax advisory work, and has extensive knowledge of local taxation and overseas taxation from an offshore perspective. She also has a detailed and practical knowledge of offshore reporting and regulatory issues, including BEPS. 

Emily joined EY in 2010. She specialises in all aspects of local Guernsey tax and leads the payroll services across the Channel Islands. She provides Guernsey tax compliance and advisory services to individuals, companies and partnerships, and regularly advises on employment taxes, including the treatment of flexible benefit schemes and benefits in kind.   

EY_Zaeem YoussoufZaeem is part of the private client and trust team, working with high-net-worth individuals and offshore trustees, and advising on UK and Jersey tax compliance and tax-efficient structuring. He also works with UK property developers and real estate companies based offshore, advising on the UK transactions in land regime and wider corporation tax impacts to real estate businesses. 

Iaan qualified in South Africa before joining EY in Guernsey in 2014. He focuses on the wealth and asset management industry, predominantly private equity and listed funds, and has experience of auditing Guernsey captive insurers. 

Debbie has been with EY since 2016 and has a vast amount of experience across the financial services and retail industries, having worked for tyre company Goodyear and Grant Thornton, both in South Africa. She has a detailed knowledge of accounting standards and local regulatory and statutory law requirements for financial statements. 

Finally, Peter has a wealth of experience within the financial services industries. Since joining EY in 2015, he has completed a client secondment, where he implemented new global client acceptance procedures to ensure compliance with local regulation.
