A group of Jersey companies have jointly purchased Offshore Payroll (OP), a payroll service and software business that specialises in processing for jurisdictions that have unique tax and social rules.
The new owners include recruitment specialist Rowlands, financial strategist Purpose and technology firm Vertix. Together, they plan to invest in OP’s team and technology to develop its services.
Rowlands Managing Director Jeralie Pallot commented: "I am interested in the potential that OP has to provide deeper insights for employers with regards to salary benchmarking and remuneration. This sort of data can be notoriously difficult to assess, especially in an offshore environment."
Purpose Managing Director Luke Smith added: "My focus when supporting the growth of OP will be to consider innovative ways to use the technology to understand the value of human resources. I believe we can develop OP's existing platform to create new ways to understand profitability, which will help businesses be more intelligent in their decision-making."
Director of Vertix Ross Huelin concluded: "We are committed to building on OP’s technology in creative ways, making complex processes simple – and, where possible, automatic – to increase business efficiency and agility."
Over the coming months, OP will begin growing its team and rolling out improvements for existing clients, before embarking on a programme of development.
