The Channel Islands Co-operative Society has elected Paula Williams, who has served as a Guernsey Director at the Society since 2016, as its new President.
After an early career in New Zealand, training and communications specialist Paula moved to Guernsey in 2013 to oversee FATCA compliance work, first for HSBC Private Bank and then at Ipes.
Since then she has served as Programmes Manager for GTA University Centre, focusing on director development and training in the finance and law sectors.
In 2017, she co-founded Island Consortium, which provides learning and development programmes, coaching and consultancy services.
Paula commented: “I’m looking forward to working with our colleagues to drive the Society’s vision of making a real difference in the communities we serve. I would like to thank Ben Shenton, our previous President of five years and board member of 14 years, for his hard work and dedication in the role.”
The Society’s board has also appointed Mark Cox, current Chief Operating Officer, to the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer while Colin Macleod, the existing Chief Executive Officer, is away from the business on sick leave.
