Channel Island success at Citywealth Powerwomen Awards

Gail McCourt PowerwomenThe Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2016 took place last night at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in the City of London – and it proved to be a successful evening for a number of Channel Island women and firms.

Now in its third year, the event celebrates individuals and companies that support female leadership and diversity within the wealth management sector.

A total of nineteen Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards were announced – the winners having been selected from a shortlist of one hundred candidates drawn up by eleven judges, all prominent figures from the wealth industry. Additional online voting was verified by an independent third party.

From the Channel Islands, the winners were:

Gold Awards
• Gail McCourt, RBC Wealth Management – Woman of the year: Business Services
• Jessica Roland, Mourant Ozannes – Woman of the Year: Leadership (Professional Services/IFC)
• Equiom – Company of the year: Female Leadership (Large, Institutional)

Silver Awards
• Carol-Anne Le Boutillier, Hatstone Lawyers – Woman of the year: Business Services
• Liz Le Poidevin, RBC Wealth Management – Woman of the year: Leadership (Financial Organisation)
• Sally Edwards, Ogier – Woman of the Year: Leadership (Professional Services/IFC)

Bronze Awards
• Farrah Ballands, Appleby – Woman of the Year: Leadership (Professional Services/IFC)
• Chris Blampied, RBC Wealth Management – Champion of the year: Mentoring/Sponsorship programmes
• Julia Warrander, Affinity Wealth Management – Woman of the Year: Business Growth (Financial Services)
• Hanson Renouf – Boutique Organisation of the Year: Female Leadership
• Saffrey Champness – Company of the year: Female Leadership (Professional services)

Karen Jones, Editor and CEO of Citywealth, said of the winners: "Citywealth conducted interviews with all the women shortlisted in the contest over a six month period. We discovered a vivacious, thoughtful and self assured group who will prove to be role models for women coming into industry."
