Carey Olsen names new Guernsey leaders

Elaine_Gray_COCarey Olsen has named Partner Elaine Gray (pictured right) as Head of its Dispute Resolution and Litigation practice in Guernsey, taking over from Karen Le Cras (pictured below), who has been appointed to a new role as Global General Counsel to the firm.
 
Elaine, who joined the firm as counsel in 2012 before being promoted to Partner in 2015, advises local and international clients on a wide range of commercial litigation, employment, regulatory and intellectual property matters.
 
Karen_Le_Cras_COElaine qualified as a Scottish solicitor and notary public in 1995, before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2004, where she was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law. She then qualified as a solicitor in England in 2008 before being admitted as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey in 2009.
  
As the firm's first Global General Counsel, Karen's role is to provide legal and regulatory advice to the firm, covering a wide range of risk management, regulatory and compliance issues. Karen will also remain a Partner within the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team.

She has been with Carey Olsen for the past 17 years, having started her career as a solicitor with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert in 1995.
