Carey Olsen makes six senior promotions

CO_Alan-HughesOffshore law firm Carey Olsen has made six senior promotions across its global network of offices.
 
The promotions, effective from 1 July, include: 
• Peter Sherwood, who moves up to Counsel in the Cayman Islands office (subject to immigration approvals)
• Alan Hughes (pictured), promoted to Counsel in the Singapore office 
• Andrew Chissick, Senior Associate in London
• Luke Sayer, Senior Associate in Guernsey 
• Samantha Hoare, Senior Associate in Jersey 
* Sarah Townsend, Senior Associate in Jersey.
 
Alan Hughes has worked for Carey Olsen since 2013 and relocated to the Singapore office in January 2016. He has extensive experience advising a range of clients engaged in cross-border transactions on all aspects of British Virgin Islands corporate and commercial law.
 
Peter Sherwood moves up from the role of Associate in the Caymans, having joined the firm in 2015. He specialises in cross-border insolvency, restructuring and commercial litigation in the financial services sector.
 
Andrew Chissick provides BVI dispute resolution and insolvency advice from the firm's London office, having served as an Associate since 2015. He advises large financial institutions, corporate entities and high-net-worth individuals on a wide variety of contentious issues.
 
Samantha Hoare is a dispute resolution and litigation lawyer in the firm's Jersey office, having started her career with Carey Olsen in 2008. She specialises in general commercial litigation, with a focus on planning law, judicial review, contractual disputes and contentious trust matters.
 
Guernsey-based Luke Sayer, who’s been with the firm for the past four years, has extensive experience in commercial litigation acting for clients in complex and high value commercial disputes. 
 
CO_Michael-GoulbornFinally, Sarah Townsend advises on a broad range of corporate and investment fund matters, particularly the establishment, regulation and operation of joint ventures, investment funds, managed accounts and other investment vehicles. 
 
Separately, Counsel Michael Goulborn (pictured) rejoins the firm's dispute resolution and litigation practice in Jersey, having previously worked for the firm between 2014 and 2015. 

Michael’s expertise is in contentious and non-contentious trust matters. Since 2015, he has served as Executive Director at Nautilus Trust, and then, following its takeover by First Names Group, has more recently been a Director at First Names.
