Carey Olsen appoints Emma Russell as London partner

Carey Olsen is appointing experienced offshore corporate financing lawyer Emma Russell as the newest partner in its London office with effect from Monday 2 December 2013.

Ms Russell is joining the firm from King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin where she advised on a range of corporate finance deals including fund and property financing as well as acquisition and leveraged finance. She will be working in London as part of the corporate funds team managed from Guernsey.

Ms Russell is a Scottish qualified lawyer and has a wealth of offshore experience having worked in Dubai advising on Islamic finance, general finance and investment funds finance with Cayman and British Virgin Islands law elements. Ms Russell has also previously worked in Jersey in corporate, banking and finance law.

Carey Olsen's head of corporate in Guernsey, Graham Hall, said Ms Russell's appointment strengthened Carey Olsen's ties further with both clients and referring law firms in the City of London. “Having a touchstone in London with Emma's breadth of experience will be a welcome addition to Carey Olsen and we anticipate a positive response from our London contacts.”
