Carey Olsen announces BVI hires

Tim_Wright_CareyOlsenBVI_dec20Litigation and insolvency specialist Tim Wright (pictured right) has rejoined Carey Olsen as a Partner within its British Virgin Islands dispute resolution and litigation practice. The firm has also appointed BVI litigator Simon Hall as Counsel.
  
Tim, who has spent the past year and a half leading the BVI litigation practice of Bedell Cristin, previously worked for Carey Olsen in the jurisdiction between 2016 and 2019.
 
His practice covers a wide range of litigation and insolvency matters, with his recent work in the BVI focusing on cross-border fraud and asset tracing and all forms of corporate insolvency work. 

Simon_Hall_CareyOlsenBVI_dec20He is experienced at acting for and against liquidators in insolvency proceedings, as well as advising on shareholder disputes and unfair prejudice petitions, trust disputes and fraud work, and complex multi-jurisdictional cases emanating especially from Russia/CIS and China.
  
Meanwhile, Simon (pictured left) joins Carey Olsen after more than five years at the Maples Group in BVI. He specialises in shareholder and director disputes, fraud and asset tracing, contentious trust and probate, and insolvency work. 
 
He acts for a wide range of clients, including large financial institutions, high-net-worth individuals, insolvency practitioners and professional trustees. 

As well as his significant BVI trial and appellate experience, Simon has conducted an array of interlocutory work, including applications for freezing orders, prohibitory injunctions and the appointment of receivers.
