Posted: 22/10/2018

A cross-jurisdictional team of lawyers from Carey Olsen has contributed to Global Legal Insight's first edition of Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Regulation.

The publication has brought together legal experts from across the globe to analyse the blockchain, cryptocurrency and electronic token space in relation to government attitudes and definitions, cryptocurrency and sales regulation, money transmission laws and anti-money laundering requirements, promotion and testing, ownership and licensing requirements, taxation and border restrictions.

There are more than 30 country chapters, as well as overviews, case studies and other topics relating to the digital assets industry.

Carey Olsen lawyers provided the country chapters for all five of its legal jurisdictions – Bermuda, British Virgin Islands (BVI), Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey.

Contributors included Bermuda Partner Michael Hanson and Counsel Adam Bathgate, BVI Partner Clinton Hempel and Associate Mark Harbison, Cayman Islands Partner Alistair Russell and Counsel Dylan Wiltermuth, Guernsey Partner David Crosland and Associate Felicity White, and Jersey Partner Chris Griffin.
