Calligo announces acquisition in Ireland

Posted: 09/01/2020

Julian-Box_CalligoJersey-based data optimisation and privacy specialist Calligo has acquired DC Networks, a Dublin-based IT managed services provider specialising in IT support, telecommunications and networking, and managed Microsoft Azure services.

The value of the deal has not been disclosed. However, DC Networks will be rebranded as Calligo in the near future, and its senior managers and the rest of its team will be integrated into the wider Calligo organisation.

Calligo says the acquisition marks the latest step in its global growth strategy. Over the past three years, it has completed six acquisitions – three in Canada, one in Guernsey, one in Luxembourg and now DC Networks.
Calligo’s portfolio of services includes public and hybrid cloud, IT managed services, and data analytics and artificial intelligence services, supported by ‘privacy-first’ data management consultancy and assistance with national, international and industry-specific data protection obligations.

Julian Box (pictured), Founder and CEO of Calligo, commented: “Ireland is a rapidly growing market, particularly in innovative technology. It is populated by data-driven businesses eager to explore how they can make fullest use of their data and make it work harder for them. Ireland was clearly the logical next step for Calligo’s international expansion.

"This is also a strategic target. Adding a presence in Ireland bolsters our ability to provide local, European and international businesses with a full suite of data-centric managed services.”
