Guernsey-based marine risk management and insurance company Astaara has made three senior appointments.
Nick Parkes (pictured) joins as a Marine Cyber Analyst, having previously worked in engineering roles for Condor Ferries and C8 Mechanical & Electrical.
Former naval captain Philip Ponsford has become the company’s Deputy Chief Cyber Officer. During 30 years with the Royal Navy, Philip helped develop an information security strategy for the service and wrote its first cyber security guidance. More recently, he has served as Deputy Director at the National Maritime Information Centre.
Finally, Samira Hmam has been appointed Senior Business Development Director, having spent 14 years working as an underwriter for maritime insurance specialist Gard in London.
