Appleby acted as local counsel to Genstar Capital as it enters into definitive agreements to recapitalise independent fund administrator Apex Fund Services and acquire Equinoxe Alternative Investment Services.
With the addition of Equinoxe, Apex will increase its suite of middle-office solutions and will administer close to $80bn in assets.
Appleby advised on Bermuda, Cayman, Guernsey, Jersey and Mauritius law, working with US counsel Willkie Farr & Gallagher to provide advice on all aspects of the transactions.
Appleby will continue to advise Genstar as matters progress to closing which, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2017.
