Appleby has acted as Jersey counsel to artificial intelligence specialist SparkCognition in its acquisition of financial technology company AIM2 from hedge fund management company Brevan Howard and global investment bank Nomura.
SparkCognition, headquartered in Austin Texas, builds AI technology solutions for industrial applications in a range of sectors, including financial services and energy.
Appleby worked with Texas legal counsel Latham & Watkins, alongside Appleby Global Services colleagues, to facilitate the acquisition structure and provide the client with an integrated legal and administrative service.
The Appleby team comprised Appleby Group Partner Mark Brady, Senior Associate Chris Smedley and Associate Stephen Parnell.
