Fund administrator Apex Group has appointed Gareth Smith as its new Head of Channel Islands, to manage the group’s operation and client service delivery across Jersey and Guernsey.
A qualified Chartered Accountant with technical expertise in property and private equity fund, Gareth joins from Maitland. He has been a Director at the advisory firm for the past two years, leading its growth in Guernsey, its development in the fiduciary business and a new ManCo service solution.
Prior to that, he spent nearly 10 years at R&H Fund Administration, latterly as a Director at its Jersey arm, driving local expansion, client relationships and new business.
Gareth will report to Apex Head of Europe James Burke and will lead a team of nearly 200 employees across its Guernsey and Jersey offices.
The group's existing Channel Islands Operations Directors, Gary Mauger (Guernsey) and Gary Ayres and Vimbai Bundu-Kamara (Jersey), will report directly to Gareth.
